About
Yuliia Korienkova aka Uliia is a visual artist devoting herself to robotic art, inspired by and dedicated to the technological progress initiated by the impact of Artificial Intelligence. She studied painting at the Kharkiv State School of Art, and has additional qualifications in engineering, philosophy and computer programming. Originally from Ukraine, Yuliia lives in Abu Dhabi, UAE, where her studio is located.
She participated in several exhibitions in Europe and in the Middle East. The philosophy of Yuliia’s art is: While human society rapidly evolves from consumers to users, and everything is being transformed into applications and devices, art has to be transformed as well. She combines different artistic techniques and adds a third dimension to the basic idea of paintings on canvas by applying small technical devices. With this installation she enables her new creation to interact itself as a device. The artwork can literally be charged, and it may be customized and used as an application.
In her art, Yuliia explores robots and Artificial Intelligence and envisions possible outlooks of their future evolvement. Recycled materials are used to create artworks, and while upcycling wasted things and creating new concepts out of them, she implements a process aiming at a critical reconsideration of consumption in our time.
